Janet Jackson and Beyoncé Knowles – Comparation (1st round)

There is an endless war between Janet Jackson’s fans and Beyoncé’s ones dating back years. This prompted me to gather more information to make a fair comparison between the two. If you look at the title that summarizes the action of this site you will understand that I am a person who admires Beyoncé, both as artist and as a human being. Before starting the series of comparisons I would like to stress that I respect Janet Jackson so much, and I’d like a polite and logical debate based on arguments from both sides. Thank you !

And now, let’s see the content :

1st round – Studio albums : Certifications (I made this comparison based on the certifications because the conditions in which they are granted are changed periodically, according to the decline in sales. It’s harder for artists to sell these days because of the amount of people who download.)

2nd round – Studio albums : Chart peaks (The positions on the charts show the influence and impact that those albums had worldwide, compared with the other materials on the market at their release moments.)

3rd round – Hits : Chart peaks (I didn’t make a “Certification” category like I did for the albums because until 00s the majority of singles didn’t sell good, and the certifications for them weren’t were not given properly.)

4th round – Music videos (On arguments and criteria)

5th round – Performing (On arguments and criteria)

6th round – Acting

7th round – Ability to offer variety (in everything)

8th round – RESULT (A complex conclusion)

New album anticipation

News have arisen about Beyoncé’s new album, in which is set to be her best album yet says our insider, who tells us the new LP which will have a retro vibe but with a new twist and spin on all types of genres.

A while back the singer talked to MTV in an interview and said :

“I’m mixing every type of genre that I love and I’m inspired by every type of genre. I’m not in a box. It’s not R&B. It’s not typically pop. It’s not rock. It’s just everything I love all mixed together in my own little gumbo of music”.
The singer says that quite a motley crew of musicians have inspired the album: “Definitely Fela Kuti, the Stylistics. How random, right?” she laughed. “So many people … Lauryn Hill, Stevie Wonder, of course, Michael Jackson’s Off the Wall … all of those things I’m kind of mixing together”

With all this excitement surrounding this new LP, it sure seems to be the one that will define her as an artist of many genres. With the producer’s such as Sean Garret spilling the beans around town about the first single being a monster anthem, I’m sure it’s bound to be a banger.
